Music Lessons

My Approach:

Unlike many guitar instructors, I do not approach teaching guitar as a purely academic exercise. I like to ensure that my students gain a solid musical foundation while learning how to create music, play songs and enjoy themselves.

I focus my instruction on the musical styles my students are interested in and create a curriculum customized to each student’s individual needs and preferences rather than follow one rigid course structure.

My teaching skills have been recognized and appreciated by numerous students. Many have written endorsements of how much they learned and how fun the lessons are.

If you haven’t played in a while and want to get back into it, I can really help you regain your skills and progress in the style you prefer.

I am dedicated to helping my students succeed and enjoy their learning experience. I believe that patience and focusing on individual needs have contributed to the success of my students.

”It was a great pleasure learning from Brian. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in blues music, so he gave me rather challenging lessons and homework I actually really enjoyed.
I am very glad that I was introduced to blues music. (I now listen to and play great blues music that I would have never known if not Brian.)
Thank you so much for having me as your student. I’ll keep in touch with you and let you know when we come back from our trip.”

“I’m 66 and I hadn’t played the guitar in over 30 years, Brian has me playing the blues better than I ever did when I still had hair! I can’t recommend Brian more.”

— Bill Strum

“Brian is really a great teacher for my daughter (Age 9). He has made guitar extremely exciting for her. In fact her favorite day of the week is her day with Brian! We also went to hear him play and loved it!”
