Roots & Blues, Brian Gross on Dobro, Acoustic Guitar & Vocals and Nel Nichols on Harmonica and Vocals, is an exciting new collaboration of veteran professional performing blues musicians/educators with over 60 years combined experience.
The Duo’s repertoire encompasses Delta, Piedmont, Chicago, Texas and Swamp Blues, West Coast Swing, Rockabilly, with a little Beach Music included.
Brian’s repertoire of materials includes originals and songs by Delta Blues Guitar Legends Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Son House, Charley Patton, Skip James, and Chicago/Texas/ Swamp Blues Guitar Legends Elmore James, Freddy King, Muddy Waters, Pee Wee Crayton, Hollywood Fats, Slim Harpo and more!

Nel’s Bio
Diatonic and Chromatic Harmonica, Vocals Wilmington Native. Studied harmonica in NYC with pro harmonicist Robert Bonfiglio. Founding member of blues band Tommy B & the Stingers, popular blues act performing in clubs and festivals for many years in the Cape Fear region. Harmonica teacher for many years. Competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN in 2016. Performed with Sylvia Johns Ritchie, CAMMY awards(beach music) winner for 2 years!
Roots & Blues is available for concerts, festivals, parties, club engagements and other functions.
